Jon looked at Devin who had this look on his face. He wasn’t sure if it was contempt or anger but he could tell he wasn’t pleased at all. Did he think this part of his job was fun? Hell he hated it and more than anything he didn’t think any of the women he was here to arrest today were deserving. When he looked into Bliss history he felt horrible but one of the three of them killed DImitri and he wanted it over. The DA was on his back, and he had find out who was behind this murder. Point blank his job was on the line if he didn’t close this case. As he looked at his friend he bit his lip. “We had a hearing for Miles the other day. I am honestly wondering if it’s all worth it. I’ve isolated myself from all my friends and family because I’m angry and hurting. Miranda can’t even look at me. I haven’t spoken to my parents and my best friends all hate me.” Jon said, lowering his head. “I don’t know what to do.”

Getting out of the car he saw Devin almost soften toward him. “I don’t want to arrest any of them. You know this guy is the worst but I have a job to do you know?” Jon said as he walked up the stairs to Bliss and Hunter’s home. He could hear Fox running around the house and Bliss and Hunter laughing. Knocking on the door he looked at Devin. “This sucks he terrorized all three of them and if Jackie helped she was doing what any mother would and should. I feel sick to my stomach.” He looked over at Devin. “I just want this case and all of this stuff with Miles over. I just want to be a part of his life.”

Devin felt uncomfortable when they began the drive over to Hunter and Bliss’s house; it hadn’t been their decision to bring her in, that was the police chief. They would pick up Bliss, Zach and Miranda would pick up Jackie. Afterwards the chief had asked them to handle the interrogations Miranda and Zach would bring in Tamara. Hoping that one of them would roll on the other one a judge had signed off on the arrest warrants he had a badge on and a job to do, one he wasn’t sure he wanted to do today but it was something that he had to do. Looking over at Jon he paused listening to Jon talk about everything. He was still Jon’s boy but he also knew that Jon had started to burn bridges with everyone around him, his sister, Braden and he knew it was over this investigation into Dimitri and the case with Miles. His heart still felt for Jon but he had wondered from the start if that really was the best way to go about things going for custody. He could tell it was weighing on Jon; his friend had dark circles under his eyes and he knew that things with Skye were rocky at best from Merci.

“Merci let me know that it was hard for you and Skye at the courthouse, I’m sorry Jon that you are going through this. I’m sorry about all of it, you know? Miranda will come around if you let her, but you haven’t.” Devin began stopping; it wasn’t up to him to bring up everything with Jon Miranda felt sorry for everything with Miles but Jon had been an insufferable ass about it too. He and Merci had started to talk about their wedding and all he could come up with was that he wanted Jon there and his friends and she wanted Skye there meaning it was going to be a fucking mess. He looked over at Jon while they closed the door to the car and made their way up the stairs he could tell that neither of them wanted to drag Bliss Devonshrie Kincaid down to the station for murdering Dimitri given her past with the man that was dead. Who had abused and terrorized her for years. It was a political move by the current DA and chief who in his opinion was fucking awful and he wished Braden was still there. He may have drugged his feet about it with mounting international pressure from Isla Del Cruces but he would be at least fair and private about it. “It’s shit like this that makes me miss when Braden was DA he would at least be a little more understanding it sucks Jon neither of us want to do this. But we have to so lets get this shit out of the way and wait for the Devonshire’s and the Kincaid’s to rain hell down at the station, hell the Fraiser’s too.” Devin finished looking at Jon to go ahead and ring the doorbell as he took out the arrest warrant from his jacket pocket.

Jon listened to Devin basically admit to him he’d pushed his family and friends away. He thought it would feel better but at this point he felt like shit. It felt like people had taken bites of his soul. Miranda was the first and he remembered how he reacted to KC when he returned from the grave. It was anger but he wanted to protect his sister from the pain. Then Braden and he had been best friends since childhood. Now he was going to arrest his best friend’s wife. He closed his eyes feeling the stress of the situation rising. Dani who he had always held up on a pedestal literally kept the truth about his son. He’d pushed everyone away and he rode the wave of anger then it hit him. To Skye he had been the worst to her and how was he going to make this up to her? How was he going to face everyone because he was sick of feeling so alone and honestly his heart was breaking because he had nobody in his corner. He just wanted people he loved back now wouldn’t go speak with Dani intentionally no. But everyone else needed an apology from him because he was horrible. Then it hit him that it wasn’t over. If Tamara or any of these women went down he’d be in jail. He’d never be forgiven. Especially with how he was acting. At least they couldn’t place Selina in the middle of this. The witnesses only saw Tamara, Jackie, and Bliss.

Bliss had gotten up early and made chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and eggs for her men. After breakfast they all just played around the house. It was something that she was sure Fox would remember for the rest of his life. The old school music going she danced around the house. As she watched Fox and Hunter sitting together laughing at some TV show this is what she wanted her entire life. A family that loved her, a husband that loved her, and her beloved son who she loved more than the air she breathed. Shaking herself out of the peaceful daydream of how her life had evolved. Bliss was walking back in the the kitchen to finish cleaning when she heard the knock at the door. “Sit down boys I got it.” She spun around, swirling her hips to James Brown “Get Up Offa That Thing’. Bliss danced and Fox placed a pillow over his face as if he couldn’t deal. She laughed as she opened the door unexpectedly shocked to see Jon Harrison and Devin Thompson standing before her. “Hello detectives, how can I help you this morning?”

Interview with Ashley Stoddard!

Interview with Ashley Stoddard!

Kelly and I got our beginning in writing in the RPG world. Playing in games based on General Hospital was one of the biggest of the time. We met talented writers and have kept in touch with many of them. Ash is one of those people we’ve forged relationships with for years as we’ve written together on and off. She has a history of writing rich and very complex characters with depth that isn’t displayed in most. Ash has always been able to add layers and make characters special and very distinct. Taking on the characters of Sebastian Navarro, Dylan Frasier, Rory Devonshire, and original character Cameron “Cam” Blake. Let’s catch up to one of my favorite writers, Ash!

Hey Ash, how are you doing? Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m doing well and it is definitely great to be back. I have been a 911 telecommunicator for the past thirteen years. Writing has been my escape for years and I love being able to figure out just where a story can go or needs to go. I also love playing video games with a major storyline that has twists, turns, and the occasional sidequest to keep me entertained. I’m a tattoo lover with lots of ink! In my limited spare downtime, I enjoy reading books, especially those aimed towards furthering my writing.

Where did your love of soaps start from? How does your love of soaps and drama dovetail into your writing? .

My great-grandmother got me into watching soaps when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I remember we’d watch Days of Our Lives, One Life to Live, and then finish the day out with General Hospital. I always seemed to find a way to connect with the story that the writers were putting out there, though there were some that were a little more difficult to comprehend at a young age. I wouldn’t get back into soaps until my teens when I was home from school during summer vacations. But it was still an amazing escape. I loved the drama and the romance, the action and adventure that these characters were bringing to life on my television screen day in and day out. I’ve probably watched every soap that was and is produced in the States at one time or another. I honestly just love telling a story and making that connection with the readers.

Soaps bled into my love of role playing games and I couldn’t believe my luck when I was able to combine the two when I discovered General Hospital Happenings. That RPG really got it all started for me and I was able to create some characters that I still remember and love to this day. It’s also where I met and began writing with the both of you! I missed the good ole days of GHH, but I’m glad that I can continue writing with a few of the amazing writers that I met so many years ago.

How did joining Blissful come about? What characters and romances on the Blissful canvas do you enjoy?

I originally joined Blissful a few years ago when I had been developing my own series Valley of Angels. Things got hectic in my life and with my job. I ended up having to leave the writing staff to focus on things going on with my life. Chris originally approached me once more about rejoining the writing staff roughly a month ago and I was a little hesitant. Life is still just as hectic, but learning that there would be other writers to share the entire writing process with and no time frame for completing my share of the writing, made things easier for me. And it has definitely been a relaxing thing to come back to. I’m certainly glad I accepted both Chris and Kelly’s invitation to come back!

You’ve hit the ground running with Sebastian and I truly think you’ve incorporated your flavor while keeping the essence of the character. Tell me what’s your process taking on two very popular recasts in Sebastian and Rory?

Honestly, I’ve been catching up on the series and reading through scenes involving both Sebastian and Rory. I’ve been doing what I can to make myself as comfortable as possible with taking them both over from their previous writers. In a way, I feel like I’m putting my own spin on each, but still doing everything I can within my power to keep them true to their cores. I can’t wait to fully tackle Rory and see where he goes and grows with the series. And I honestly hope that the readers enjoy my spin on both of these amazing characters.

Cameron Blake is the first original character to join the canvas not from Kelly or I! Which makes him very important in my opinion. What can you tease about Cam?

First off, he’s been around Atlas Falls forever. Born and raised in the beautiful city, but he didn’t always stay there. He graduated from the local high school around the time of the 9/11 tragedy and felt a sense of duty to serve his country. He wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps in as many ways as possible to help his fellow man and enlisted in the military. Cam has been back in town for a couple of years now, leaving the military in order to care for his ailing father. And has joined the fire department to honor his father while helping his mother out with the growing medical bills due to his fathers’ health. Cameron does have a little connection with several citizens of Atlas Falls, and I look forward to exploring those in the future.

Anything else you want to tell the fans of Blissful?

Stay tuned! We’re just getting started!

Interview with Scott Andrews!

Interview with Scott Andrews!

In websoaps we’ve seen some of the most talented writers come and go. Blissful has been lucky enough to snag one of the most gifted. Scott has always had a bold thought process when it comes to websoaps. With him joining he’ll bring a distinct voice to the characters of Max Devonshire, David Rhodes, and Whitney Hessington. With his series on sabbatical he’s joined the Blissful writers room and team. Bringing on his very own following to the series Kelly and I are very lucky to have him. We are here to catch up with Scott and get to know the mind behind Liberty City and what has prompted his transition to Blissful writer’s team.

Hey Scott, how are you? Can you please tell us a little about you?

I am doing quite well, thank you. I am 29 years of age, gay and live in New England. I have a strong love of music and the arts, especially soap operas, and am someone who genuinely wears their heart on their sleeve.

Can you tell me where your love of drama/soaps began and how it dovetails into your writing process.

It began when I was young; my mom watched the CBS soap operas and, during the summer months, would watch my older cousins. I wasn’t allowed to watch MTV, so during the early morning and mid-day, I would watch her soaps with her. I always loved the rich storytelling and writing on these soaps, and was always hooked on watching them with her, and learning about the antics of those in Genoa City, Los Angeles, Oakdale and Springfield. It was a bonding moment for us as I was growing up.

As the sole writer of your own series Liberty City, what is different for you writing a series with other writers?

I think it comes down to the collaborative process. With LIBERTY CITY, they’re all my ideas and my ideas alone, as well as my own voice. With BLISSFUL there are other voices, ideas and points of view coming into play, and I think it’s about seeing how others’ might see a scene play out, or how someone interprets how you bring forth a character, and how that might just impact how you present the character via your own writing.

How did you get recruited for the Blissful writing team? Who are some of your favorite characters and romances on the Blissful canvas?

I’ve known Kelly for, gosh, over ten years, so when she came up with the concept of BLISSFUL and what both she and Chris were pursuing, I was intrigued by the concept of dual writers, and the process in how they wrote an episode. And, of course, I kept prodding for the chance to possibly dip my toe in and guest-write a character. Of course, when both Kelly and Chris opened the door to begin writing with them, I just knew I had to take a chance to jump at the opportunity to do something new and exciting, and dip my toes into the wonders of Atlas Falls, and the very complex, dynamic residents that reside there.

My favourite characters are, of course, three of the ones I’ve chosen. I also love the pairings of Jackson & Dani, Jackie & Lowell, and Hunter & his two current pairings: Max & Bliss, though we know who he genuinely should end up with!

You’ve picked Max, David, and Whitney tell me your choice to take on these characters and what do you plan to bring to them that may haven’t been there prior to your taking on the characters?

Well, firstly, both Kelly and Chris have done a wonderful job writing the characters of David, Max and Whitney, and to be able to have my own chance at developing those characters is a complete honour for me. Max, for me, is that juicy character I think any writer dreams of writing, mainly because she is such the opposite of me and my own upbringing. David’s backstory and determination in pursuing his career in medicine, as well as his position as Chief of Staff and the weight that must bring to him, being in control of St. Christopher’s, and that angle I believe is just fun. Whitney is just juicy in her backstory and the development brought to her character thus far. She’s got some complications in her actions, and I love how complex she overall is.

What I hope to bring to these three characters is, of course, the foundation created by Kelly and Chris, but to also expand upon those foundations and maybe bring new facets of their personalities that maybe hadn’t been thought of prior. And, of course, maybe take some risks that may or may not pay-off well, but that’s what we do as writers, right? Take risks.

Anything else you want to say to the Blissful fans?

Just, thank you for welcoming into the BLISS family. I hope you enjoy what I bring to the canvas, and welcome any constructive criticism you may or may not have. Let’s have some fun, and thank you for continuing to read BLISSFUL with us all! It means so much.

Interview with Kristi Clark!

Interview with Kristi Clark!

Over the years we’ve rebooted, and you’ve heard Kelly and my ideas and thought processes on the series. We however have three new writers joining the series. As our co-writers I want you guys to absolutely get to know them! First up Krist! Since joining our series Kristi has quickly become a fan favorite for her portrayal of mobstress Gia Falcone. Taking over the role of Maddie Devonshire, Harvey LeClerq, Lex Hessington, and more to come as the story progresses! Kristi is in my opinion one of the most talented writers when it comes to dialog. Crisp and always focused in character you never quite know what’s coming. Let’s catch up to one of Blissful newest Big Three, Kristi!

Hi Kristi, how are you? Can you tell me a little about yourself?

Hi! I like to think I’m pretty laid back and I def don’t take life too seriously. I love reading, mostly crime fiction, comic books, history and science but I read a little of everything. I also love the water; swimming, kayaking, jet skiing.

Where did your love of soaps start from and can you tell me how it dovetails into your writing.

I was 12 and I was at a friend’s house. Her mom was watching either GH or AMC – my memory fails me on that part now but I think it was GH – and I just loved it from the start. I can’t articulate what it was that drew me in but I was hooked immediately. I quickly started watching all the AMC soaps and I was an AMC snob forever which makes me sad now thinking about the fun I missed out on with other shows but I couldn’t have watched them all any way. Maybe I was a weird kid but I also loved Shakespeare from a fairly young age and he might have written the OG soap operas. I hope that after watching soaps for so long I’ve developed an unconscious appreciation for the vicissitudes of life and love which drives my writing. Fortunately, my own life has been more of a straight line which I’m ok with. 🙂

How did joining Blissful come about? Who are some of your favorite characters and romances on the canvas?

Somehow Chris tempted me with Gia and next thing I knew I was fully invested. I took on a few more characters and now you’ll see me writing for a few more characters. Hope you enjoy reading!

Oh no, this is so hard! Favorite characters:

Philip – my favorite thing about Philip is that he comes off as spoiled and entitled, even whiny sometimes but he always delivers and does it so well. Philip has such heart but he’s not a pushover.

Brenda – she’s a walking disaster and I can’t get enough of her.

Selina – she’s just a badass and I love seeing her come back stronger from everything she endured in season 2.

Walter – ugh, I LOVE to hate Walter. He’s just the worst and I would revolt if Walter ever left canvas. He can’t leave.

Favorite couples, past: Chauncey & Greer, Jon & Cassie

Favorite couples, current: Simon & Ivan, Braden & Tamara

When writing Gia what drives you? You have such vigor and fire when writing to her. How do you make your characters so distinct?

With Gia specifically, I suppose it’s just my love for a villain. I’ve always loved villains, even as a kid. I always thought it was more interesting to explore what happens in the grey areas. As far as making them distinct, I wish I could live a million lives and explore everything the world has to offer so I suppose I allow myself to really imagine a character with objective curiosity.

What do you want for your future in Blissful? Also will we be seeing any of your own created characters on canvas?

I love being a part of Blissful. I’m a huge fan of Kelly and Chris and I’m happy to keep doing what I’m doing. So, for the future, just exploring these characters and getting to know them better. I haven’t given any thought to creating my own character, lol. Who knows what the future holds but for now, I’d say doubtful.

Anything else you want to tell Blissful fans?

I hope you enjoy the ride with us!

“It has been my dream to save the world. Who doesn’t want their children to grow up in a world that is better. Right now energy conservatorship is and has to be a priority. Today I make a vow to not just Atlas Falls underprivileged community Scottwood but to the world. DGI is beginning a new transition from the old to a new brand to become a company to push technology, innovate weaponry for the military, and innovate how we use energy in this day and age to make the… God do I sound pollyanna? I mean I don’t want to keep saying make the world a better place. We are capitalists and people will see through it if it feels inauthentic. I believe in what I’m doing. I just don’t like speeches. Can you do it?”  Jackson stumbled as he flopped on the couch looking at his wife and best friend. He didn’t know how to give a speech. Hell Chauncey exemplified this shit, he schmoozed with the best of them. He was good at business, not so much at giving speeches.  As he stared at Dani he walked up to her and wrapped his hands around her waist. “We haven’t had much daddy and mommy time and I miss mommy you know that?”

He picked up his glass of water and took a drink. “My dad is dying. My mom called me yesterday and he visited her and I feel like shit keeping the twins away from him. He’s dying and I need them to have a picture with him. Or something you know? How would they deal with knowing I kept them from the great Lowell Devonshire. I can’t believe I’m saying that.” He lowered his head as Jackson exhaled. He wasn’t ready to cry but the feeling was overwhelming. He was about to lose his father and that was a crushing feeling. “I miss him, you know? His crabby ass attitude and his laugh. I haven’t heard my dad laugh in a long time. Anyway we aren’t here to mope. I don’t want to talk about this. I want to talk about my wife doing this speech because she’s used to talking to people. She’s used to making everyone fall in love with her. I just think my wife needs um to do this speech for her husband. What do you think?” He held her in his arms. “We have to take time for ourselves. Donovan and Jolene will be okay, you know? We have mom, Bliss, Hunter, Walter, your mom, and so many others come on we have to take care of mom and dad too. DGI and babies be damned.”

Dani wasn’t sure how things got so off was a good word. She was working so much trying to juggle the charity event on top of making sure everything was ready for the summit and their next acquisition in Montana with Grant Johnson. Maybe she had taken too much on at once when it came to trying to help Jackson but she didn’t want him to worry about it or her she could handle it. When he started to read his speech she watched him as he spoke. She could tell that he was nervous about it and mentally made a note that on top of everything else on her schedule she’d look over the speech and adjust it. She knew that speeches were not his cup of tea and she’d written some of the best for Charles when she worked for him, she could do the same to help him. “No I don’t think it sounds pollyanna, it shows that you are passionate about what we are doing here. It just needs some refining before the summit, that is all.” She almost snorted when he asked if she would do it, it had to be him not her to show the entire world and his siblings he was ready to take over. “I’ll tell you what I’ll be on stage with you when you read it, I want this to be your moment. It needs to be your moment, not mine.”

They hadn’t talked a lot about Lowell or his entire relationship with his father but she had taken his side over Jackie’s when it came to the twins. He didn’t want Lowell near them and as her husband she respected his wishes. She hadn’t pushed or prodded about it but deep down she wanted Jackson to change his mind but on his terms not hers, life was far too short her family knew that better than anyone especially after her sister died. She saw him tearing up and placed her hands on the back of his neck, leaning her head in to comfort him about Lowell and wondered if now was the best time to speak up on it. “I think maybe you and your dad should talk if you’re ready, I haven’t been pressuring you about it and you know I have your back either way but Jackson he is dying. I don’t want you to regret anything down the line when it comes to your dad. If you want him around and to see the twins I’m okay with it.” She said looking at him she’d still respect his wishes either way but it was his choice one she wouldn’t stand in the way of. She felt his hands on her waist and relaxed. They really hadn’t focused on that in what seemed like forever, not that it happened intentionally from either of them she supposed. They both were working non stop and with Dru around they were careful after the time she walked in on them. “I know we need to be better at time for us.”
