 SandStar Oil

This had to be the most awkward plane ride ever. Talia thought to herself as she folded her arms stepping off with her carryon Louis Vuitton bag. As she stepped off the plane Egypt was stunning. The high risers seemed to shine brightly and the Hummer limo seemed to perk everyone up. Quickly taking Dani’s hand she smirked. “This is what you’ve been waiting on and about New Years look I’m sorry I was such a bitch. I was hurt and honestly how could I be mad at my roomie. Sweetie I’m so happy for you after Lex’s bullshit you bagged a Devonshire.” She teased as she kissed her cheek. Everything seemed so lavish in Alexandria.

She watched everyone getting inside as Zerick helped all the ladies inside of the limo. “Thank-you.” She felt his hand palm her ass. Quickly turning around she looked at him with that cheeky toothy smile. Talia shot Zerick a death stare his wife was right there. How disrespectful not to say she was considering him. Leaning over she smiled then mouthed. “If you touch me again I’ll chop off your hand.” Never losing her spellbinding smile. She saw they were going downtown in Alexandria they were picking up Natasha.

Jackson wrapped his arm around Dani as he watched her amazement at all the sights she was seeing. It was fun seeing the middle east through new eyes. Picking up her hand he kissed it as he saw Chauncey staring at them. “Don’t worry we are going to nail down this deal and enjoy Egypt as a vacation. I wanted to Christen the DGI jet with your screams.” He kissed her cheek as he smiled at his brother. “I don’t know if you’ve heard Chauncey about Rory and that stripper I think we should talk to him as bros.”

Greer glibly snickered as she snuggled closer to Zerick watching Chauncey and Jackson try to play nice. “Well I think you both should help him a Devonshire with a stripper quite the controversy. It’s been all over the tabloids but it’s so nice you two are going to help him. You should do that more protect each other. Unknown threats are always around the corner.”

Dani looked at Talia and nodded her head at her yes that was what she was thinking about at New Years and well now it was entirely different. “It’s okay I was just stressed. I’m sorry too.” She said looking at Talia. She looked out the window taking in the sights and the sounds, she smiled up at Jackson when he kissed her hand and she was pretty sure she was bright red as he mentioned them on a jet. She’d been willing to try on the flight and had they not been interrupted by a knock on the bathroom she would have let him. “Room suite, much better than everyone on a plane hearing.”

Chauncey leaned back on the seat raking his eyes over Greer with her husband. She should by his side for this trip in his bed and he had every intention of wooing her there. He looked over at Jackson attempting to be cordial about Rory and a stripper. Yes he papers had been all over that but really he was pretty sure his baby brother banged his share of strippers too.

“You don’t say Rory was banging a stripper you had a few of those in your days didn’t you? Perhaps you can give him pointers on that I’ll make sure to give him the advice to run. After all certain women should just be below our class should they not?” Chauncey said with the best fake smile he could as he looked at Dani and his brother.

Jon hadn’t said much to Devin since the freaking mess he caused. It was a mess. His sister was almost hit by a car, and some mysterious guy saved her. Not to mention he was getting more and more antsy about Cassie and Skye. They were both great girls and seeing Skye at TJ’s yesterday brought back a lot of memories. Not to mention the late night calls from Cassie which were getting more and more intense. Audrey Montgomery the stunning opera singer who committed suicide. She exposed more layers to him and he was started to see that Cassie was lost as he was. That was what he found attractive. The fact that Skye was still persistent as ever. That made him feel good. He wasn’t sure which instinct to follow. As he looked at Devin he looked perplexed also. As he walked to his partner desk.

“Hey, don’t hurt my sister with Merci.” He lowered his head wondering if he’d honestly overstepped his place. “I just am protective Devin and you can’t say a guy sniffing around Rochelle you wouldn’t be just as cautious. Look I am not saying that I’m judging you on your connection to Miranda. I mean she has been at that club and ever since the almost hit and run. Well she’s been distant to me and I’m assuming you also. Miranda has a way of freezing out the ones she cares and love about.”

Devin was filing paperwork on a few of the cases that they had been closing when Jon approached his desk things had been awkward since Merci and Skye showed up at the fireworks. Miranda had been pushing him away and she had thrown herself into work she was not happy about him inviting Merci and Skye. In defense he had invited Merci as a friend and not Skye who was up to her old ways of screwing around with Jon’s life. Not to mention the earful he got about the shit she was attempting to pull on Jackson with Dani. He looked up at Jon and knew Jon wasn’t trying to be a dick overstep his bounds. Family was important to Jon and his family, Miranda’s happiness was important to Jon.

“I am not trying to hurt Miranda I invited Merci as a friend. I wasn’t the one who told her to include Skye and maybe you should follow your own advice you are begging for trouble if you let her back into your life.” Devin said looking at Jon as he closed the folder in front of him on his desk. He and Miranda were fine maybe in a bit of a tiff at the minute but he certainly wasn’t dragging Merci along he had been very clear that friends was all they could be. “Your sister is just working her butt off you know how important this is to her and I am not about to not let her do it.”

Devonshire Mansion

The holiday’s had past in Atlas Falls and now looking at the estate decorated to the hilt for the annual party she threw she knew that things were changing. She still felt horrible for Tony, Jamal’s arrest was public news and he was awaiting trial the judge had given him house arrest. More that Lowell and Tony had paid the judge off to allow the house arrest. Jamal was safer on house arrest at an unknown location. Hidden away on the outskirts of town with police watching the house and private security to boot. She nodded her head to the wait staff as Lowell approached her and her eyes glared as Tess entered her house with Bliss following her.

“How is Tony I know he was going to try and see Jamal if Jamal will see him?” Jackie asked hoping that Tony was still holding on. She knew that he had to be hurting right now. Jamal was still not cooperating with the police or Braden if he didn’t start soon they would have no choice but to actually go to a trial on drug possession charges. Looking over at Tess laughing with a guest she snorted and then glared at him. “Really Lowell will it ever end the disrespect that you show me with Tess? I have tried with Bliss she lives here and yet you allow this?”

“What am I supposed to do ostracize my daughter’s mother? Bliss feels attacked and Tess unfortunately makes her feel safe.” Lowell said lowering his head. He never felt so low. He was embarrassing his wife, however his daughter was in pain and Tess knew what it was about. He would have to do whatever he could to help her. As he reached out to Jackie he smiled. “You have always been by my side even in times I didn’t deserve it. I don’t want to hurt you but I don’t want to lose Bliss or you. It isn’t about disrespect it’s about my love for my daughter.”

Lowell watched Tess and Bliss laughing seeing his daughter look so carefree. “I have neglected her and Tess has secrets, I’m going find out what that is. If I can ask you for a favor. Please don’t chase Tess or Bliss away. I’m going to find out what is haunting my daughter and I’m going to run Tess out of town once and for all. I don’t need a fight. I want you to play the game Jackie, don’t let her bait you because that’s what she’s doing. No I don’t think Jamal is a priority considering Selina stunt has put Mason in the line of jail.”

Chauncey stood at the altar in horror as Braden rose from his chair, he could already see a few guests leaving making their way to the reporters at the door. Many were DGI shareholders and chairs their families and he could see his father was looking around for Talia to fix the mess. He still couldn’t believe that Selina had picked today of all days to do this, one of the biggest days of the year their wedding day. He could swear he saw Greer out of the corner of his eyes towards the back a smug grin on her face before he turned to Selina and then glared at Braden. He could almost swear his father and Walter were ready to pounce on each other over the events. This was something that would not be forgiven anytime soon publicly humiliating him here like this.

“I hope this haunts you both. You better watch out Fraiser soon she’ll be all about stealing your son from you because she feels she is entitled to him.” Chauncey said his voice seething at Braden before he looked at Selina. His entire body was shaking with rage. “This is far from over and I will make it my life’s work to destroy you both.” Turning on his heel he stormed past his parents and family out of the wedding. He needed air and space to think and plan his destruction of them both.

Braden watched Chauncey leave and then looked at all the guests faces, he saw some leave and honestly he didn’t care it wasn’t as if it was his wedding he wouldn’t have invited them anyway. Selina looked like she needed a few moment and he agreed so did he he had to explain to Dylan what was going on. Give his parents a chance to digest everything and then they could all go from there. It was unconventional he knew that much, he would probably venture to guess breaking up a wedding and marrying the same day was not lucky in the least. However he and Selina had waited for years for this chance and he was tired of waiting they had waited long enough. Looking at the reverend and then at Selina he took her hand in his.

“Can we have a few minutes or so. Just to settle everyone down and talk to the kids and our families about this first?” Braden asked hoping Selina agreed there had been so much drama in the last half hour that they needed it to settle just a bit. Dylan and Maddie would be confused about what was going on his family was confused and he was sure hers were too. “We can pick this right back up. I promise.”

Everest Resort, Room 215

Selina touched the expensive silk on her wedding dress Dante really outdid himself. She thought today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. This was supposed to be the wedding she’d always dreamed of. As she closed her eyes tears fluttered seeing her mother antique sapphire veil. Her father had dug it out of storage and she was wearing it today. It was blue diamonds, sapphires, and blue pearls her mother was exquisite on her wedding day. Merci had talked her into transforming it into a egyptian tiara. She looked down at the picture minus the horribly tacky decor of wedding her parents were beautiful. They looked like something out of a magazine and part of her heart fluttered wondering what her mother would think. From what her father had told her she’d think she’d be proud. Selina stood up with her silk robe on she floated to the makeup station. The woman began putting her finishing touches on her face. She had to be perfect. When she did this she had to be perfect.

Looking over she saw her father entering the room with a bouquet of white roses. She knew that she was going to break his heart today. She was going to hurt everyone she cared about but it was what needed to happen. “Daddy.” She said softly looking at him. “Tanya can you pardon us we would like to have a moment. I just want to hug and hold my daddy.” Selina rushed to him as she hugged him. “No matter what I’ll always be your little girl and you’ll always be the only man that was ever a superhero to me. It’s not many men who can learn how to french-braid but you did. You stepped up as mother and father and I love you for it daddy.”

Tony had stopped in at the kitchen just to make sure everything was in order before walking up the stairs to see his daughter. Merci had outdone herself the ballroom looked exquisite, it was what his daughter wanted for her big day and as long as she was happy he was happy for her. The guests would be arriving shortly for the pre wedding activities and then he would walk his daughter down the aisle. He paused for a moment to reflect on that how Gloria would have been proud of the woman Selina had become. There was also a somberness that seemed to settle on him as well her mother was not here to see this day, cancer had taken Gloria far too young and too early ripping her of these memories. He moved out of the way offering Tanya a warm smile as he smiled at his daughter admiring her dress. Little parts of his own wedding had been incorporated such as the veil and his throat tightened a bit.

“You’ll always be my little girl Selina.” Tony said wrapping his daughter in his arms in an embrace and a hug, he stepped back taking her in his sight. She looked stunning, gorgeous everything that a bride should on her day. The dress was something that took his breath away and then looking at his wife on display through the tiara it was hard not to get emotional about it. He let out a chuckle at the mention of braiding he had a lot of help on that matter thanks to Ophelia. Selina never let her do it, but it was their secret he practiced on Ophelia so he could do it for his daughter. “You look absolutely beautiful and stunning your mother if she were here today would agree. The dress alone, you picked good and your mother’s veil she would approve. Are you ready?”
