Lauren Diane Cummings was the first born of Andrew and Leisel Cummings. As a child Lauren was a protector for her younger siblings Rosamund and Kellen. Rosamund was mentally disturbed girl and Lauren was always fighting for her siblings. When they sent Rosamund away she was devastated. Moving forward Lauren was friendly with Jackie Davis in her youth and detested Brenda Thorpe. The two women would forever hate each over the years through due to her husband Walter Fraiser. Lauren and Walter relationship was tested due to Harvey LeClerq but they’d breakup shortly after. Lauren and Harvey relationship was steamy but she still yearned for Walter. Walter started DGI with Lowell and Lauren quickly found a place among the girls she envied in school. Lauren left Harvey and went back to Walter marrying him when she discovered that she was pregnant with Walter’s child. They married in a small ceremony and DGI was booming doing it more out of a service to her son and her future Lauren turned her back on Harvey letting him go and choosing Walter and a future at DGI.

Lauren became pregnant with Braden and they were happy for a while after he was born. She had become good friends with Jackie and she felt they had stability in their marriage around this time and Walter was working with Lowell. She truly felt like their lives were about to change, then the double cross happened. Her husband and their relationship forever changed then they grew apart and were never able to reconcile their relationship. Walter and Lauren went to work at the Pub. Together they transformed the Pub into one of the uniquest breweries in the country. Lauren would have Dani when her marriage with Walter was on the rocks and the verge of divorce. Walter was cold to their daughter and Lauren compensated by trying to mend the fences. Over seven years later her sister Rosamund would return during the time she had a surprise pregnancy. During this time she lost her second daughter Victoria in a car accident while Dani survived the accident with Lauren driving. Lauren is tough and hard on people because she only wants the best. She detests the Devonshire’s and elite because she is all about the small people.

Season 1

Lauren was trying to fix her family at the beginning of the season which meant trying to mend fences with her daughter and her husband. Once she heard through gossip that Dani was secretly dating Jackson she approached Jackie demanding the relationship be called off, Jackie simply let her know their children were adults which infuriated her even more. At the hospital she confronted Jackson and Dani about the relationship reminding her daughter what the Devonshire’s did to them years ago and bringing up Lex. She was furious when Dani stood her ground and refused to call off the relationship willing to walk away from her family for Jackson. She then made Walter face a hard truth alter that night Dani was in love with Jackson and he pushed her right into his arms, deciding until Jackson screwed up she would support her daughter causing strain on their marriage. She attended Walter’s political speech where she learned that Brenda had been pregnant with her husband’s baby and had to relieve what happened when their youngest daughter died. She put on a brave front when Dani was kidnapped eventually telling Walter to crush Jackson after the kidnapping regardless if Dani was pregnant or not, Walter refused. She then walked in on a moment with Brenda and Walter at the Pub where Brenda revealed that she in fact had their daughter and lied about it, Lauren told Walter it was over and was filing for divorce.

Season 2

Lauren and Walter signed their divorce papers with them splitting ownership of the Pub half and half, Walter paid her out and she moved into her own waterfront cottage letting him keep their house. She befriended a down on her luck Dru Price to the point that she hired her at the Pub when Ralph left and then later invited Dru to live with her when she claimed she was robbed.  She painted a picture for her daughter’s bridal shower showing that her connection to Jackson had actually started when they were kids and she found a reignited passion for her art and painting again. She and Jackie began to reforge their friendship now that Dani and Jackson were engaged and expecting twins and she went with Jackie to visit Katie in California. She was thrilled when Dani gave birth to the twins and even was more thrilled that they named her grandson after her. Lauren while out one night bumped into Randall Sinclair and the two hit it off her eventually giving in and agreeing to start seeing him again despite her past with love and Walter ending up causing her so much pain and suffering. She also supported her oldest son and his renewed connection to Tamara Wright going as far as to tell his long term love Selina to stay away. She was crushed when Tamara was raped and dropped everything to fly to her aid using her daughter’s influence with the Devonshire’s to use their jet. Once there she and Walter presented a united front for their children and their grandson Dylan. Over the course of the season Lauren continued to be haunted by the car accident and what happened the night that Forbes saved her and Dani from the car, while being unable to save Victoria. She put her hatred aside of the Devonshire’s finally when her daughter married Jackson. Afterwards she put in a good word for them to hire Dru Price as their nanny unknow to her that she was Dani’s unstable half sister out for revenge.
