Hunter is the second son of mayor Steven Kincaid and his wife Brenda, younger brother to Anderson and older brother to his sister Brooke. From a very early age he was distant from the woman that gave birth to him and closer to his father and early one he learned appearances were often at times deceiving. It is a well known family secret his mother likes the bottle and for himself he has always been wary of drinking because of it. If anything he was fine and has always been fine with being the middle child and family mediator between his parents. He is very protective of his younger sister and like Kincaid’s before him learned his name could get him away with anything. He attended high school locally and in high school had his fair share of girls and partying that was not unnoticed by his mother and father. When his older brother left for college and Chicago as he was going to go to college he told his father he didn’t want to follow in his footsteps and become mayor.

Hunter and Max reconnected in college where they were part of the mutual party scene with her friends, her brother Jackson and their friend Mason. Eventually he stepped back especially when he noticed Jackson slipping further and further into the drugs, most of their friends wake up call was when Cat died. He was horrified that Jackson drove high and from then on he only went to the parties as a wingman. He and Max got closer and began a heavy relationship and after a proper courtship he proposed marriage much to the thrill of his parents and hers. The wedding was massive one of the biggest in the state. He went to work for his father at City Hall where he has been for years in Economic Development and he loves his job helping businesses and the town grow, working with city planners. Though his mother kept pushing him to intern for his father he has no interest in continuing on the family legacy of being the next mayor of Atlas Falls like his father and grandfathers before him. Over the years his marriage to Max had changed and they have grown distant and he learned a few months ago of her affair with Philip Montgomery. He has since decided that it is best for his marriage to Max end as he has come to the realization that he is no longer in love with her but he is waiting for the timing to be right in order to serve her with papers.

Season 1

Hunter started off the year knowing that his wife Max Devonshire was again having an affair behind his back and then he was shocked at his father’s birthday party when he was introduced to her sister Bliss. He began to see Bliss and connect with her more and more after his father died and Max continued on her affair with Philip Montgomery. He was torn on whether or not to file for divorce from Max especially when it was so close to his father dying and when DGI was in trouble. Besides the optics there was also the matter of their fiances that he worried about as they never signed a prenup. Despite Max’s affair he and Bliss fell in love with each other and slept together the night before Selina’s wedding to Chauncey and he agreed to file for a divorce from Max. Max of course was furious when she was served and vowed that he and Bliss would never by happy, he pointed out that she really didn’t love him like Bliss did. Eventually he learned about Fox when Bliss tearfully told him about her past in Isla Del Cruces and vowed to her that he loved her and her son. He also called his brother Anderson to find out if there was any legal way they could get Fox to the states and take him from Dimitri. He and Bliss grew increasingly worried about Max around a clearly deranged Philip and they showed up at his condo. He was shocked to see Philip holding Max at gun point and charged at the gun which went off shooting Philip in the process and leaving Max shaken. He and Bliss agreed to cover up the shooting lying and telling everyone that a mysterious burglar had entered and shot him and they arrived just in time.

Season 2

Hunter and Bliss continued their romance and he and Max signed their divorce papers and they were both shocked when Dimitri came to town with Fox seeing it as the perfect opportunity to make sure that Fox remained in the states. He was falling harder and harder for Bliss with and Fox, with advice from Mason he proposed to Bliss telling her that now that they were both free it was the perfect time for them to get married. He also began to work against MontCorp aggressively at City Hall thanks to Philip trying to keep DGI at bay on multiple projects, he prevailed with the city and they secured the land on the lake for their floating casino. He struggled with his mother’s new relationship with Walter Fraiser as well hurt by all the lies and the deceit of his childhood and the revelation that she and Walter had a daughter out there that was dead. Bliss reminded him that life was too short and he made amends. He walked in on Dimitri attacking Bliss in their house and stopped her from stabbing him to death in their kitchen. Not wanting to step on one of his best friends toes with Jackson, he and Bliss married in secret on Christmas Eve at the Kincaid mansion where Charles Hessington officiated and then he made the decision that they were legally going to fight custody of Fox with Dimitri and the royal family if necessary. At Jackson and Dani’s wedding he and Bliss were shocked to learn that Dimitri had escaped police custody and he lost her in the fray of the party and was more shocked when Philip appeared and outed his father as a former KKK member. He was shocked and angry lashing out at his mother and Anderson, when Bliss suddenly arrived again at the tail end.
