Cara is the eldest daughter of Trevor and his wife Beatrice Langston, one of the richest families in the state and her father Trevor is an influential financial advisor. Care grew up in Pittsburgh her mother was very good friends with Ava Crestwood, therefore she and her siblings ran in the same circles as the Hessington children. Cara attended AFU where she met and ran into Anderson Kincaid, someone that her parents approved of and the two hit it off. After graduation they married and split their time between Atlas Falls and Pittsburgh, with her working at Langston Investments with Anderson, while he had political ambitions with Steven. She initially was supportive of his decision to run until Brenda took it from him.

Often at times she is against her mother in law as she finds Brenda overbearing to the point that she was livid when Anderson sent Wyatt to live with her so he could attend Atlas Falls Preparatory Academy. Over the years she is calm, cool and collected when it comes to Brenda in general, she has caught Anderson in many affairs yet always seems to be able to hold onto him. The biggest thing she did was reach out to Ava’s husband Charles and convince him to foot Anderson’s political ambitions knowing it would get under Brenda’s skin. She also was too happy to inform Anderson, Chauncey and Natasha that she had pushed Natasha down the stairs at Jackson and Dani’s wedding, warning Natasha that it was done and the baby is a Devonshire and if she wanted it to remain that way, she’d go along with it.
