Season one launches with the shocking double murder of Steven Kincaid and Carla Luciano in the Kincaid mansion—an explosion that rocks Atlas Falls to its core. As the investigation unfolds, secrets, affairs, and long-buried betrayals set the tone for a year of scandal and fallout.

Lowell Devonshire begins the year searching for a successor at DGI while attempting to integrate his estranged daughter Bliss into the family. His failing health, ongoing affair with Tess Blisston, and refusal to choose an heir fracture the Devonshires. Bliss’s arrival sparks fierce tension with Max, while Bliss grows close to Hunter Kincaid and reveals her real reason for returning: to regain custody of her son, Foxworth, from her abusive ex, Prince Dimitri Kavanagh.

Chauncey Devonshire, desperate to impress Lowell, nearly marries Selina Delacroix while secretly falling for Greer Westwood. Selina uncovers the affair and gets revenge by humiliating Chauncey at the altar—marrying longtime love Braden Fraiser instead. Chauncey spirals, sabotaging Jackson at DGI, encouraging Greer to leak Dani’s medical records, and pushing Jackson toward relapse. What he doesn’t know is that Greer is secretly working with her father Pierre LeClerq, whose vendetta against Lowell fuels a covert plan to retake DGI.

Jackson Devonshire returns from rehab and falls into a whirlwind romance with Dani Fraiser, rekindling long-held feelings. Their relationship is tested by Jackson’s addiction, Dani’s past with Lex Hessington, and a dangerous entanglement with Ronan Madden’s criminal operation. After Kendrick Watkins kidnaps Dani during a drug deal gone bad, Jackson is forced into rehab again—especially once they learn Dani is pregnant with twins. Jackson secures major wins at DGI, forming DGI Energy with Natasha Hassan, but his demons and family’s chaos haunt him.

Max Devonshire faces her collapsing marriage to Hunter while hiding a year-long affair with Philip Montgomery. Philip’s obsession escalates thanks to his secret pact with Scarlett Nichols, and a violent confrontation at Philip’s condo ends with Philip being shot. Max, Hunter, and Bliss cover up the incident, but the fallout worsens when Scarlett and Forbes Montgomery reemerge, threatening Max’s life and reigniting old feuds.

Rory Devonshire falls into Atlas Falls’ underworld when he becomes involved with stripper Diamond, who he later discovers is graduate student Yasmine Kohl. Their tumultuous relationship pits him against Jamal Delacroix and entangles him in Ronan Madden’s criminal network. A moment of weakness with Tess Blisston destroys his reconciliation with Yasmine, leaving Rory heartbroken.

Jamal Delacroix lives a dangerous double life—privileged son Jamal Delacroix by day, Ronan’s dealer Jamal Baptiste by night. His descent into drugs, violence, and forbidden connections forces his parents to intervene, resulting in his arrest and house arrest. Jamal develops feelings for Yasmine and Rachel Morrison, but everything implodes when Kendrick kidnaps Dani and Yasmine. Jamal witnesses Ronan’s empire crumble as Kendrick dies in a police standoff.

Ronan Madden rules the city’s drug trade until he’s framed for Steven’s murder. His relationship with Brooke Kincaid blossoms amidst violence and betrayal, but Kendrick’s jealousy and Brenda Kincaid’s manipulations push Ronan into deeper danger. He is eventually arrested, nearly killed in prison, and later freed when evidence surfaces that Kendrick—not Ronan—was behind Steven’s death. Ronan reclaims power, blackmails Lowell, and sparks riots after spinning Kendrick’s death into a narrative of police brutality.

Scarlett Nichols, juggling engagements, affairs, and secrets, spirals when she accidentally kills Dante Gonzales during an argument. Her growing paranoia and manipulations culminate in a scandalous tape outing Mason Delacroix, nearly causing his suicide. The season closes with Scarlett exposed as the tape’s creator and escaping the country with her mother—six months pregnant and a fugitive—with help from Zerick Westwood and Forbes.

Jon Harrison, heartbroken after Dani chooses Jackson, finds solace in an on-again/off-again relationship with Cassie Montgomery, complicated by his renewed connection with Skye Morgan. Miranda goes undercover to dismantle Ronan’s empire while protecting her daughter Quinn from unknown threats. Jon ultimately ends the season by taking down Kendrick during the kidnapping standoff.

Zerick Westwood and Greer are revealed as the season’s ultimate puppeteers. Hired by Lowell, they secretly undermine him. Greer seduces Chauncey for leverage, while Zerick grows close to Talia Rose and confesses a shocking truth: he is the son of Lowell Devonshire and Katie Davis. By season’s end, Zerick is revealed as the murderer—killing Steven, Carla, and Gideon to avenge his mother, with Forbes helping to cover up evidence. Their alliance culminates in Zerick publicly accusing Lowell of rape, sending Atlas Falls into chaos as DGI stock collapses and the town reels from the explosive revelation.
