Merci was in and out of foster care most of her life abandoned as a baby by her parents she grew up in the same group home that Skye did. One of the things she learned early on was that she had to take care of herself. She and Skye formed a close bond as sisters that were cut from the same cloth and she considers her very much so family. In high school she got decent grades and then enrolled in the local community college. It was there she and Skye began to party and she did coke for the first time. Unlike Skye she never became addicted but she did experiment on and off.

She worked on and off in college and when Skye began her affair with Jackson, she and Skye participated in a threesome with him while her boyfriend slept it off on the couch. After that she put her distance between herself and Jackson seeing the destructive path her best friend was on. She and Neil also broke up when he discovered the encounter. She eventually graduated college and when pictures of her liaison with Jackson were leaked she took control of her life and funded her own company. She has planned some of the best events and weddings in Atlas Falls over the last two years and has no intention of going back to her party days.

Season 1

Merci started off the year planning venues and events in Atlas Falls including the annual St. Christopher’s fundraiser where she and Jackson shared a moment to the point she kissed him to make Dani jealous. She was still hurt about how things went with her foster sister Skye and Jackson. It was at that party that she also bumped into Devin Thompson and the two flirted heavily. She was thrilled when Skye returned home but suspected something was up with her return when Skye refused to tell her why she was home only to discover that Skye was taking money from Lowell. They also started to plan to rob some of her rich clients at parties eventually deciding against it. When Skye got close to Jon again she and Devin were brought back into close quarters and shared a kiss. She went as far as to offer herself to him only to have Devin object which only made her angry at him. She even tried to form a friendship with Quinn Harrison to Miranda’s upset. Eventually it was revealed that she was secretly dating and had been with Kendrick Watkins and she was devastated by his death, where Devin comforted her after the shooting.

Season 2

Merci was still reeling from Kendrick’s death when she and Devin bumped into each other again with her lashing out at him and him telling her that he and Miranda had ended things. Devin asked her out a few weeks later and she agreed and the two started a relationship. She was floored when Skye told her about the child she gave up and that it was Jon, unknown to either of them at the time that Quinn had overheard everything and went on to tell Jon’s sister Miranda. Things came to a head when Jon learned the truth and she and Miranda got into it and Devin was angry at her for keeping the secret for Whitney to blindside his partner. Eventually they agreed that they wanted to be together and Jon and Skye needed to work on their own issues. Merci finally confessed to Devin that she didn’t think she was good enough for him and he convinced her to give him a real shot and quit comparing him to men who treated her badly in the past.
