Lowell Devonshire grew up in the middle class community of Chester Lane in Atlas Falls. His father Samuel was a banker and his mother Lillian was a librarian. Growing up in Atlas Falls middle class showed Lowell where he’d never want to be. Lowell and his younger siblings all dreamed of living in Oquirrh Hills. Samuel often took his kids to the lavish community to show them what they could have. In school Lowell was brilliant and viciously competitive with other students. In high school Lowell would graduate at the top of his class. Tragedy struck the Devonshire family when Samuel died suddenly. In college Lowell would become best friends with Walter Fraiser. The two men struck up a friendship and Lowell quickly formed a plan that would forever change both men lives.

Lowell saw what a whiz Walter was with computers and duped him into giving up his software. Around the same time he pursued the girl he used dream about Jackie Davis. The stunning beauty queen would agree to marry him and his life shifted dramatically. DGI quickly transformed into one of the worlds biggest computer software manufacturers. Lowell’s ego would be at a peak after his first born Chauncey birth and he became a millionaire. Lowell would indulge in drugs and woman including his assistant Tess Blisston. Once Jackie found out about Tess, he called it off. Jackie nearly left with half of his empire and Lowell convinced her for a second chance. Tess would return with a baby nine months later. After a blood test he found out about Bliss was his. Lowell hid the baby from Jackie and kept her and Tess in Europe. After Rory’s birth, Lowell calmed down and focused on his family, career, and legacy. Now having to face Bliss arrival and once again betraying Jackie he feels all the key elements are in place. Lowell is secretly looking to find his successor.

Season 1

Lowell Devonshire started off the year looking for one thing in mind to find his replacement at DGI to take over the company and adjust his estranged daughter with Tess Blsston, Bliss Devonshire into the family fold. He however faced opposition from all his children bringing Bliss into the family and his wife Jackie when the two began to grow apart. His mistress Tess arrived back in town as well taunting Jackie about their affair and she was crushed when Tess revealed it never ended. As the year progressed his health began to decline to the point he was hiding the condition from his children and he had yet to name an heir. Towards the end of the year he brought Jackie into his secret that he had Parkinson’s disease and they went in search of a cure.

Season 2

Becoming more ill Lowell Devonshire faced his mortality in the face. Leading to him and Walter to even reconcile while he lost other relationships mainly that of his Jackie’s and his second oldest son Jackson. It would eventually be without Jackie because Zerick Westwood would be revealed to be Lowell and her mentally ill sister Kathleen’s son. This was uncertain due to Lowell’s denial and Zerick’s insistence. DNA would eventually prove that Zerick was indeed Lowell’s and what’s worse Belle revealed herself shortly after. This destroyed Jackie and she filed for divorce against Lowell and kicked him out of the mansion. Lowell would move in with Tess and Belle making a new quasi-family full of deceit. At Jackson’s and Dani’s wedding Lowell finally revealed the truth that Linus was Zerick’s father not him.
